This year we’ve seen some big changes in the music industry, one being the return of the ‘Pop Girl’. 2000s revival has brought back our yearning for those stars we idolised in our youth, and with that some of our pop-est leading ladies have emerged. Read on to see our top 3 picks for our current fav Icons.
1. #Bratgirlautumn ?
Starting off by stating the obvious - Brat Summer took over everyone’s FYP these last few months and needless to say, this particular shade of green has been permanently engrained in our brains. Charlie XCX launched her comeback with a SPLAT with NY Times describing the shade as “reminiscent of Nickelodeon Slime”, Brat Green has become definitive of this pop-culture era.
From this we’ve seen lime green / chartreuse shades plastered across storefronts this summer, with some of our own bratty looks flying off the shelves. Some might say this colouring in the fashion world is a passing trend, but as we know trends come and go - and a lime green look is a staple statement in itself. Did somebody say #Bratgirlautumn ?
2. Espresso Girl
Sabrina Carpenter has to be the most talked about of our current pop-girl era, with drama of a fight for No.1 Debut Album in the midst. I can’t just be speaking for myself when I say that Espresso, and Please Please Please has been on repeat on my playlist. After her full album release in late August we’ve only seen more and more hype, with the rise of #espressogirl on socials. The “Espresso Girl” is certainly well timed for our autumnal fashion exploits coming through this September, characterised by cool browns and neutrals - coffee brunches and demure decor. As with Carpenter herself, we think the Espresso Girl is here to stay for the long run. Regardless, Sabrina WILL be all over my Spotify Wrapped this year.

From Love Story to I Can Do it With a Broken Heart, Taylor Swift is the gift that keeps on giving - decades apart. With not a lull in her career, the Swifties are thriving more than ever with the current Eras Tour craze. Despite Taylor being a well known pop icon for many years, only recently has her influence truly penetrated into the fashion space.
